Homeschooler’s

Minecraft Club

Do your kids love it as much as ours does? Are you looking for an opportunity for yours to play Minecraft with others? Well, here it is!

Minecraft is such an amazing sandbox style game that allows kids of all ages to create and play without realizing how much they are actually learning. If they are just playing the game alone, they’re practicing their time and resource management skills, using basic math and science principles and even some entry level coding knowledge too. For those that really get into Minecraft, they quickly find opportunities to learn more advanced programming and coding, building of machines and developing circuitry and so much more! In a group setting, now we’re talking about practicing communication and teamwork skills, developing problem solving and critical thinking opportunities as well as gaining experience in working with others to accomplish goals and missions. The sky is the limit with Minecraft and the opportunities to connect and build with others creates pure magic!

Homeschooler’s Minecraft Club is an opportunity for kids to practice all the skills mentioned above while having fun with friends in a safe environment. We use private servers and Zoom accounts to help kids connect twice a week to play Minecraft together! Club sessions run twice a week in 7-week intervals throughout the year and has a one time donation request of $12 per child, per round. This ends up being less than $1 per class for each child. All money collected helps cover costs of the private servers and zoom accounts. Anything left over goes right into our Creative Connections program to help purchase supplies and/or rent space for other activities.

To join the Homeschooler’s Minecraft Club, your child will need access to a computer or laptop with Minecraft Java version installed and access to Zoom via computer, laptop, phone or tablet. Gamer headsets are not required, however, parents in the past do find them helpful as our classes can get a little loud :) If you have more than one child playing in the same room though, you will need to have headsets for them so they don’t create echoing issues on zoom.

To join any of our sessions, please create a free family membership account here to gain access to the event calendar and reserve your spot(s). Spaces are limited in many of the activities and your reservation helps us get an idea on what we can try to plan for.
